Karnataka gets another news channel "TV 1 Kannada ". This time its backed by sound financial parties and journalist team
It's monsoon season for Kannada Television News Industry. At the verge of assembly elections, there are lots of transformation happening in Kannada TV News industry, which includes people shift, launching of new channels, Re-launching of existing channels and repositioning of the channels.
At present, TV9 Kannada is leading the TRP followed by Public TV, Suvarna, and BTV. All these news channels are directly or indirectly under the control of politicians or Business Tycoons.
Other list of channels include Janasri , Samaya News, Kasturi News, Prajaa TV, Suddi TV, Digvijaya News, Raj News Kannada, Udaya News and ETV News Kannada.
Adding to this list is yet to be launched channel TV 1 Kannada News. It is backed by a well-known Industrialist and political face Mr. K P Nanjundi. This channel is headed by Shiva Prasad TR, a well-known journalist who has experience in both Journalism and business front.
Taking to Facebook the launch of the channel, Shiva Prasad TR, the chief editor is optimistic about their venture. He goes on to claims that this channel won't be another carbon copy of News channel. Also, the group has plans to launch several news channels, Newspapers, magazine and digital news platform in future days. "It's just not a single channel, but a media group," says Shiva Prasad TR.
The channel has already received permission on 19 June 2017 from Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for Uplinking and Downlinking of the channel
Though there is no doubt that launch of new news channels provides employment opportunity to many, the level of credibility can also be not denied.
